What the Press Says...

"If you love the Clancy Brothers, the Irish Rovers, or the Dubliners, this set will be a lot of fun. Rick Fannin and Tom Scheidt are better instrumentalists than the Clancy's ever were, the repertoire includes material from the Clancys to Stan Rogers and Ian & Sylvia, and they have a boisterous performance style."

-- Steve Winick, Dirty Linen

The Orange and The Green
Album Review
Fannigan's Isle's debut album, The Orange and The Green, was originally a double LP album, later put on double length cassette, and at last was released as a double CD album in 1995. Half of the album, The Orange, was recorded live in concert, while the other half, The Green, consists of studio recordings, including 5 songs new to the CD release. The resulting combination is the best of both worlds. While their concert zest and enthusiasm shines through on Orange, there's still the more refined sound of the studio for those interested only in the music, and not the concert experience.

Both halves contain an energetic mixture of Celtic songs, done in the bar Irish style the Clancy Brothers made famous, and popular folk numbers, many of which were sung by groups like The Kingston Trio, but here have a more contemporary edge, and an Irish sheen. But whether live or in the studio, Fannigan's Isle has that rollicking, energy-filled sound theat both the Kingston Trio and the Clancy Brothers exemplified, along with a contemporary edge. And the buzz they've built through these two albums demonstrates their appeal. A strong seller nationally, depsite their only regional touring base, Fannigan's Isle may well become not just the American answer to the Clancy Brothers, but their successors.

Rambles Of Spring
Album Review
With The Rambles of Spring, Fannigan's Isle picks up from where their acclaimed debut album left off. From the Greek instrumental Servikos Dance, to their exciting version of 'The Witch Of The Westmoreland, The Rambles of Spring is sure to help them reach an even wider following. Joined in the studio by several other musicians, Fannigan's Isle has created a sound sure to be embraced by any fans of a good Guinness and a rousing song.
