They called it....

The Ultimate John Stewart Weekend

On Friday and Saturday July 14-15, 2000, a gathering of fans met in Lisle, Illinois for what organizer Jeff McDonald called "The Ultimate John Stewart Weekend".  Planned was a concert by John, a showing of the rare Paul Surrat video tracing John's career from The Cumberland Three through the early 80's, a question and answer time with John Stewart as well as his friend Tom DeLisle who would be previewing songs from the upcoming release "Wires From The Bunker" and telling stories about the lost songs. Added plans were for guitar pickers to get together and play informally, tour Folk Era, and get together for lunch and other good times.

By all accounts it was an overwhelming success that gathered fans from all across the country.

Here is a collection of photos from the event, thanks to John Lee, Roy Fritz, Nancy Alford and Evangeline.
